CONTEXT
During an apocalyptic event that wiped out the major civilizations of the archipelago, a group of survivors underwent a magical ritual to guard in stasis one of the last remains of their civilization. After thousands of years, the survivors awaken, but their memories are almost gone, and the ancient ruins surrounding them are strangely familiar. Searching for answers and a way to recover their memories, the survivors embark on a journey to rebuild their civilization while trying to find a way to stop the apocalypse before it happens again.
This cinematic begins when the player finds the ruins of the temple of the fire goddess Eclito and solves a puzzle to open the sanctuary. Once inside, the player acquires a piece of the mural that tells the founding myth of one of the game's four lost civilizations.
The idea behind this cinematic was to convey information about the game's lore & world-building in a way that was open to interpretation. The events presented during the video were written in the style of a psalm or a poem to convey the information in a mysterious tone, but also to show how their religion was the center of their civilization.
TEXT TRANSCRIPTION
"In our darkest hour we raised our prayers, we asked for salvation from the evils inhabiting the moonless night.
Our sacret Eclito answered the call, their power raised the mountain fire and cast away the shadows of darkness with its golden light.
From the fires of Eclito we learned to cleanse the impurities of matter and soul. We prospered in peace under the warm glow.
And should those shadows rise again we shall cast away all evil in our path with the light of her sacret flame."

CONTEXT
A mining prison located on the surface of an asteroid falls into total chaos after the miners unearth an ancient alien monolith located at its core. Kara Arden, a prison guard, and James Gulter, a miner inmate, are two of the few survivors after the eldrich horrors attack. They forge an unlikely alliance to survive and escape at all cost.
The event shown in the video is an example of a quest event, which explains in a clear yet immersive way the next objective for the player to achieve.
TEXT TRANSCRIPTION
"- Gulter: This bastard is ready to rumble!
*The power returns and the emergency system shuts down, revealing the area's control room. A human figure stands in front of the control panel and begins to use the speaker system*
- Survivor: Hey! Hey! It's anyone there?! Please, do you hear me? I'm over here, please!
*When the player looks at the survivor, the event continues*
- Survivor: I'm so glad someone is still here! I got trapped when the power got shut down.
- Survivor: But now that those crappy terminals work again I can call the main elevator to take us all straight to the surface and out of this hellhole!
*While the survivor talks about the next objective, the player can see from one of the nearby windows that a hostile alien is on its way to meet the survivor*
- Survivor: I just need to use the access code card and we… Wait, I'm sure I have it somewhere, perhaps I put it in my pockets…
*While the survivor looks for the card, the alien enters the room. The survivor screams in terror, triggering the alien's attack, which throws him through the glass wall as he falls to the ground, dead*
- Gulter: Uppss, guess we are still a party of two.
- Kara: We need to get to that terminal, it's our best shot to get out of here."
